Using the FX rack

DJ Filter, equalizer and ambiences — and when each one helps.

The effects rack adjusts how the pad sits in the church’s sound. Three controls, each solving a different problem.

DJ Filter

A single control: to the left it cuts the highs (dark sound, for moments of stillness); at the centre it is off; to the right it cuts the lows (thin sound, which opens room when the band is full). It is the most useful effect live, because it is one gesture.

3-band equaliser

Use it to fit the pad under the band. If the sound is muddy against the bass, cut the lows. If it is fighting the voice, cut the mids.

Reverb and echo

Room, damping and decay. In a small room, a longer reverb gives a sense of space; in a large, already reverberant room, use little or none.

What is available on the free plan

Rack access is partial without a subscription. The full rack — all three controls with every parameter — is part of PRO.
