Choosing the right key
The grid has 24 keys. How to know which one fits each song.
The rule is simple: use the song’s key. If the team plays Goodness of God in G, the pad goes in G.
Major or minor
The grid carries the 12 major keys and the 12 minor ones. Turn on a minor-key pad and the labels change with it — C becomes Cm — so what is on screen is what will sound.
Follow the song. If it is in a minor key (Am, Em, Bm), use the minor row. A song in a major key uses the major row.
If you do not know the key
Start from the note the guitar or keys are playing on the first chord. If it sounds tense against the band, try a semitone up or down.

Neutral pads
On pads marked Neutral (open chord), the texture works with any song — it defines neither major nor minor.
