Can I use pads on my church live stream?
Short answer. Yes. The Pads Ambiente license allows use in services, rehearsals, live performances and streams from your church or ministry, as well as recording songs with the pad in the background.
This is a legitimate question that rarely gets answered — many teams avoid pads on streams out of fear of a takedown, without needing to.
What the license allows
- In-person services and rehearsals.
- Live streaming from your church or ministry, including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
- Recording songs with the pad in the background.
What the license does not allow
- Reselling or redistributing the audio files, in any format.
- Repackaging the sounds inside another app or library.
- Distributing pads as tracks on streaming services — for example publishing a 10-minute pad as “meditation music” on Spotify.
The distinction is simple: using the pad as a bed under what your church produces is allowed; turning the pad into the product itself is not.
What about automatic YouTube claims?
Content identification systems recognize commercial recordings. An atmospheric pad used as a background layer, mixed into your team’s live sound, is not a commercial recording being played back — it is part of your own mix.
What usually triggers claims on a church stream is something else: the song itself, when the congregation sings a protected work without the appropriate performance license. That is a separate matter from the pad, and depends on your church’s arrangement with the rights bodies in your country.
If you import your own audio
When using Custom Pads with files you brought yourself, responsibility for the rights to that audio is yours. If the file came from a third-party library, check that library’s license.
